From 8–16 August, soprano and sound therapist Tania de Jong AM returns to Chenot Palace Weggis with a series of acoustic performances and her “Find Your Voice” sound healing workshop. This experience combines breath, voice and vibration to reduce stress, quiet the mind and raise emotional awareness.

Coherence is a state that the human brain and body constantly strives for. The neuronal connections formed in the human brain are not determined by genetic programs, but are formed in a self-organizing process based on pre-, peri- and postnatal experiences. This involves an unconscious search for suitable solutions to problems via neuronal connection patterns. Ultimately, the aim is to achieve a coherent state in which as little energy as possible is consumed. In the attempt to maintain or restore this “inner balance” state in the face of a world determined by traumatic imprints we see the need for a deep contact with suppressed and split-off living needs and parts. Because trauma diminishes our capacity for the experience of coherence and flow. At the same time, when we transform trauma, we are gifted with an enhanced sense of flow and a deep connection to our authentic, true selves.

The Sound Bath is a mind-altering singing experience where everyone contributes to a beautiful sound tapestry which bathes those in the centre of the circle in loving kindness and a connected consciousness. It takes participants to a deeper place of relaxation. Sound Baths facilitate a shift in a persons brainwave state creating flow and brain and heart coherence. Through frequency and entrainment with sound it’s possible and simple to move down from our beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), with the majority of people able to reach theta (meditative state) and even delta (where internal healing can occur). Breath, sound and harmony are raising the inner vibration and leading towards a sense of one-ness.
